I grew up in the small town of Quibell, just 45mins Northwest of Dryden in a small family of 4 (that's not including all the other Leutschafts that I'm related to out there!). After graduating from Dryden High School in 2006, I took a year off school to work and decide what I wanted to do with my life. I've always had an interest in the health field and was initially applying to schools to take Nutrition courses and become a dietician. It was a lucky chance that while talking to one of my friends, he made the mistake of thinking I was applying for Dental Hygiene. I'd never considered it, but when I looked into the courses and the job opportunities after school, I immediately changed my career choice!
After what seemed like the longest 2 years of my life, I graduated with Honours from the dental hygiene program at Confederation College, Thunder Bay in 2010. It turns out, I love what I do and look forward to going to work every day. This field gives me the opportunity to be able to help people and teach them about their oral health and ways to improve their quality of life! When I'm not working, I like to spend some of my time reading up on different nutrition and supplementation practices and working out (yes, that's my hobby). But mostly I work! I look forward to seeing my patients (and some new faces) each and every day!
